Finds

We encourage everyone to share the interesting items they find. You don’t have to donate them. Just send a photo and description of what it is, and where it was found to webmaster@aldbourneheritage.org.uk and we’ll arrange to it to be shown here. If applicable we can let you have the details of how to register the find with the Portable Antiquities Scheme which is a national database of archaeological finds.

If you’re having trouble identifying it we can try to help, or if we can’t we encourage folk to leave comments on this page if you happen to be able to identify someone’s find.

romanpot Two pieces of Romano-British grog tempered coarse pottery, possibly Savernakeware.

The size and rounded edges shows they have been in ploughed soil.

Found by Chris Rust, 2010 on the allotments by the Vodafone mast.
